Creative Thursday: Color and Paint

One of my New Year's resolution this year was to spend more time painting.  I thought it would be the perfect first entry for a new series: Creative Thursday.  One day of the week, I will share anything and everything that inspires me to create.

Dreaming of Paris... as of late... how I wish I could one day visit you.  Is Paris really as wonderful and charming as the movies portray?

The shabby chic, English-country cottage style that inspires all things classic and pretty.  This is what I feel when I think of Paris.   White and pink with a hint of soft magenta blended over a turquoise sky.

I used a 20X24 inch canvas, 1 3/8 inch thickness.  To protect the colors and canvas from fading I sealed it with a clear protective finish.

La vie est belle, French for 'Life is beautiful'.  The painting turned out pretty.  The two-tone pinks and turquoise will add that pop of color to any space, a little reading nook or bed side by the head board.  It would sit lovely over the fire place or mantel with a bundle of peonies, or any fresh flowers.  I didn't want to add any more to the painting because I wanted the details of the Eiffel Tower to stand out, and the colors as well.  Sometimes, less is more.

But not always =)  Photos, cards and little notes are always a fun pop of colors.  And a great way to add personal touch.

All of my Creative Thursday projects will be posted in my Etsy Shop Fancifulchaos.etsy.com, available for purchase if interested.

La vie est belle, life is beautiful.  Get creative.  Chao!
